Eiki help make the world a little greener

Founder Commits the Eiki Companies to a Renewed Focus on Conservation.

Osaka, Japan: February 1, 2010: Koji Sekino, Chairman of the Board and Co-founder of Eiki Industrial Co. Ltd. of Osaka, Japan today announced that his Company will expand its commitment to reducing waste and promoting renewal.

Reflecting his disappointment with the inability of political leaders to forge a global program to restore the planet's health, Sekino pledged EIKI to undertake a series of affordable, meaningful initiatives to make a direct difference. "After Rio I was hopeful, after Kyoto I was optimistic, but after Copenhagen... I think now it is time for people to take a stand."

"The European Union is the world leader in political thinking and effective action on environmental issues, and their legislation is commendable." said Kiyoharu Kawabata, President and CEO. "Of course EIKI has reduced packaging, hazardous material, and power consumption to comply with EU legislation." he continued. "We will continue to search for opportunities to reduce, reuse, recycle. But we must do more!".

"The most significant, proactive thing we can participate-in is reforestation, "continued Kawabata. "More trees means less global warming: it's that simple! Rebuilding the world's lungs is critical to reducing CO2 in the atmosphere. And planting a tree is something everyone can understand. Simple, direct, and effective.".

"As a first step, EIKI pledges to pay for the planting of one tree for each EIKI projector sold worldwide, supporting a reforestation project in an equatorial country." said Sekino. "Our initial project is in Costa Rica, and we will post details of this project and our participation on our global website at www.EIKI.com. There are other initiatives we will undertake in the months to come, with the goal of helping to make the world a little greener."

Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1953 to manufacture technology for classroom instruction, Eiki Industrial Co. Ltd. quickly recognized it possessed special expertise in the engineering of 16mm Film Projectors, and set out to design and build the best classroom film handling equipment possible through a process of continual improvement. This focus on quality and integrity ultimately made EIKI the largest selling 16mm projector in the world, and is the cornerstone of the Company.
Applying its projector expertise to new technologies, the Company grew through expansion, acquisition, and partnership, offering additional AudioVisual products, and ultimately Presentation media devices, to ProAV Dealers around the globe. Today EIKI (Digital) Projectors are marketed globally through a network of Subsidiary Offices in the USA, Canada, Germany, the Czech Republic, China, and Malaysia and ProAV Distributors and Dealers in major counties worldwide.
